What to expect: Inspired by the luxury ocean liners of old, the Royalton has a block-long lobby aisle carpeted in royal blue, with seating and dining to one side, and registration desk and elevators almost hidden on the other. The hotel is a favorite of those in the fashion and media worlds. Dark blue curving hallways lead to rooms reminiscent of cabins, with porthole windows and built-in storage.Amenity highlights: Valet parking, 24-hour concierge and room service, and turndown service are available. A lobby designed to be a gathering place includes the Library Table—where drinks are served and a selection of books and international magazines is available—and the intimate Round Bar, seating just 20 patrons. The small fitness room provides essential workout equipment.
