What to expect: The elegant lobby features highly polished brass banisters, antique furniture, mirrors, and a beautiful glass chandelier. A pair of brass elevators carries guests to upper levels, where quiet hallways are painted in complimentary shades of cream and sage, and where rooms continue to be nicely renovated floor by floor.Amenity highlights: Rooms are spacious and comfortable with chairs and couches upholstered in English chintz. Beds are outfitted with silky smooth sheets and fluffy down comforters and pillows. All rooms have Italian marble baths, well-stocked mini-bars, high-speed data ports, and personal fax machines. Upon arrival, every guest is greeted with a plate of sweets in their room. Free newspapers are delivered every morning, and free shoe shine service is available.
Insider tip: Each year on Patriot's Day, Boston Marathon runners and wheelchair competitors may be viewed just two blocks away from the hotel on Boylston Street. It's wise to get a curbside spot by late morning before the crowds arrive. Also, four blocks north of there, in front of the library, is a perfect spot to see the First Night Grand Procession on New Year’s Eve—a colorful outdoor parade with 1,000 artists.

Clio This awardwinning Parisianstyle restaurant offers delicious entrées such as crispy braised organic chicken, sweet butterbasted Maine lobster, and California squab stuffed with foie gras. Desserts include Tahitian vanilla bean crème brûlée, chilled red currant mousse, and caramelized croissant bread pudding. A special chef's tasting menu is available nightly. - Sashimi Bar The hotel's contemporary bar can comfortably seat 21 guests. Fresh fish is prepared using a fine balance of exotic herbs and spices. Delicacies include Kobe beef, sea urchin with quail egg, and rock shrimp tempura. Sake is served by the pitcher or by the cup.

The hotel has a lovely private dining room with a fireplace which can comfortably seat 70 people for sit-down dinners and accommodate 120 at cocktail functions. A private boardroom that seats 10 is also available.
