The buildings date from the 1840s and are graced by wrought-iron railings. Accommodations feature original brick and stone walls and contemporary decor and furnishings that include dark-wood furniture and modern art. Platform beds with wood-and-wrought-iron headboards are dressed with triple sheeting, five down pillows per bed, white down comforters, and chocolate-colored chenille throws. Frette Italian terry-cloth bathrobes and slippers supply lounging comfort. Ceramic-tile bathrooms include pedestal sinks and Essential Elements toiletries from San Francisco.
